Lance Gross is an upcoming star who once turned down the chance to become a professional track and field athlete in order to pursue his dream of acting. He received a Bachelor of Arts in theater from Howard University and then trained at The Ivanna Chubbuck Studio as well as the Tasha Smith Acting Studio.
Calvin Payne, played by Gross on Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, is the only child of Ella and Curtis Payne. He is constantly changing his class schedules at college, to the chagrin and confusion of his parents. He and his cousin CJ spend much of their time as reluctant volunteers at his father’s fire station.
