Paris Winningham, The Voice finalist, musical journey began in infancy when his father, Larry Winningham, who was also musician, placed a microphone in his little hands. Inspired by his parents, Larry and Dorothy realized that the soul of this child was anchored in song. His voice was always heard around the house and at church. Later, he taught himself to play drum setup with a mystical syncopated rhythm. In school, he continued with the drums and learned to play xylophone with the concert band. Inspired by his parents, Larry and Dorothy realized that the soul of this child was anchored in song. His voice was always heard around the house and at church. Later, he taught himself to play drum setup with a mystical syncopated rhythm. In school, he continued with the drums and learned to play xylophone with the concert band. However, when he reached the age of 10, he auditioned successfully for the Richmond Boys Choir. This began his formal voice training taking him down a path he could never imagine even to this day. Oblivious as to where his gift would lead, his parents sought to perfect the gift with formal voice training. RBC introduced him to audiences of over 500 strong and singing opportunities with The Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra, The Petersburg Symphony, a concert with The Harlem Boys Choir, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, and James Earl Jones – just to name a few. After being honorably discharged from the US Navy Paris made his home in his final duty station Jacksonville, FL. Continuing his love for music by singing with local bands and in church he decided to try out for NBC’s The Voice Season 21. During the blind auditions he turned 2 chairs and would go on to the finals where he finished 3rd place. Paris’ rendition of Tennessee Whisky was the highlight of the season and propelled him to charting 5th on iTunes.
