TIM BOWMAN JR

A Detroit native, with lengthy roots in the music industry, it would only be a few short years into his life, that his musical destination would be determined amidst his family of musicians. As early as the age of 11, Tim would accept his calling and spend the next years of his life developing his voice into the rich and dynamic sound that audiences are moved by today. His voice was cultivated with the support of his father, renowned jazz guitarist, Tim Bowman and aunt, famed gospel singer, Vickie Winans. After recording such singles as “Shake Yourself Loose” (remix) and featured on Winans’ hit song, “How I Got Over,” at the age of 17, they would collectively guide him through the next stages of his musical career. After recording such singles as “Shake Yourself Loose” (remix) and featured on Winans’ hit song, “How I Got Over,” at the age of 17, they would collectively guide him through the next stages of his musical career. Tim would find himself ministering through music, touring with Winans, and being vocally coached by his father during these early years. After hooking up with cousin and new manager, Marvin Winans Jr. it wasn’t long before Marvin would introduce Tim’s exceptional vocal ability and universal appeal to legendary music producer, Rodney Jerkins. Jerkins heard one song and immediately began the process of signing Tim as the first artist to his new Universal distributed label, Lifestyle Music Group. Now with Jerkins at the helm, his second album is filled with the world-class music production that his good news infused lyrics and incredible vocal gifting deserve. It is this unique combination of music and message that carves out a place for Tim within both the Mainstream and Christian music genres. The album, which includes the first single, “I’m Good” a feel-good song originally written for Mary J. Blige but tweaked to fit Tim’s styling and overall message, is filled with infectious melodies and uplifting lyrics on top of a fusion of dance, urban, gospel and even contemporary folk music. Listeners will be delighted to enjoy this blend of mainstream music, while appreciating Tim’s ability to maintain the integrity of his gospel background.
